In terms of features, popularity and wide game selection, most gamers agree that the xBox 360 offers the biggest bank for the buck. There are always great new games being released by the xBox 360 game developers which is the main reason for the huge popularity of the x360 gaming platform.
As anyone inside the XBox 360 gaming community will tell you, all is not perfect. Since the release of the initial model of the X360, the gaming unit has been plagued by what has become commonly known as the Xbox 360 3 Red Lights problem.
When the game you’re playing freezes and you see 3 flashing red lights on the front of your xbox console, you know you’ve been struck by this problem.
What this means is that there has been a hardware failure inside the xBox 360. When excessive heat builds up inside the xbox and causes damage to one or more internal components, this can trigger the 3 flashing red lights on the front of the xbox console. The best way to find out if you have permanent damage is to let the xbox cool down for an hour or so then power it back up. A few lucky xbox 360 owners have “magically” fixed the 3 red lights problem simply by powering off the unit for an hour or so and letting it cool down. If this does work for you, you’re going to have to send your xbox out for repair or go the do-it-yourself route.
Repairing the 360 yourself is not as daunting a task as it may at first seem. If you are a “do-it-yourselfer” there are several repair guides you can download from the internet that take you through the repair process step-by-step (including videos). The huge advantage of going the do it yourself route for the Xbox 360 3 Red Lights problem is that you can be back up and playing your favorite game in about an hour or so.
