Mounts in World of Warcraft are important to master the game. If you want to level from 1 to 80 at a decent pace throughout the game they are incredibly important. Your mount is actually the most essential tool for fast leveling at your disposal.
This is because they allow you to travel rapidly and efficiently to places far away to shoot through the quests, gain experience and climb up the levels as fast as possible.

So it’s very important that you concentrate on getting the best mounts that you can. A lot of players neglect to put aside enough gold to buy the best mount they can when they reach level 40, which will slow them down a lot while they find the gold. As you approach level 40 put a lot of focus on acquiring a good mount and you’ll progres faster than other players.

Some mounts in WoW can only be acquired by defeating specific opponents who then may or may not ‘drop’ the mount for you to grab. The very best a least common mounts in the game can be acquired this way.
These are called rare drop mounts – truly the holy grail in World of Warcraft. You can easily play World of Warcraft for years and never even see one of these rare drop mounts. Here are the best ones and how you can acquire one:
In the Tempest Keep Kael’Thas will drop a mount called the Ashes of Al’ar 1% of the time. This is an actual Phoenix which you can fly. Another cool one is the Swift Zulian Tiger, which the High Priest Thekal in Zul’Gurub will drop just 0.06 percent of the time! This immense cat resembles He Man’s cat and is incredibly fast and powerful.
Another one is the Swift Razzashi Raptor, which Bloodlord Mandokir sometimes drops when defeated, but only 1.2% of thetime. A very cool raptor mount. And Kael’Thas in the Heroic Magister’s Terrace will drop a Swift Hawkstrider 2% of the time.
The last rare drop mount doesn’t fall from an opponent, but out of a chest, and 100 percent of the time. The Amani War Bear is to be found in the 4th chest in Zul’Amen.
